Become a Camp Koala Volunteer!
Volunteering at Camp Koala is easy and fun, and can have a huge impact on a grieving child's life. We welcome people of various backgrounds, professions, and life experiences to contribute to the unique experience of our camps and support groups.
For the safety of our campers, all volunteers who want to work directly with children must:
1) Complete this Volunteer Application
And
2) Pass these required background checks as well:
A) Child Abuse Clearance
B) PA State Police Criminal History
C1) FBI Fingerprinting
(if you've lived outside PA anytime in the last 10 years)
Or C2) Fingerprint Waiver Disclosure form
(if you have lived in PA for all of last 10 years)
Print and complete Waiver Disclosure form and email to us.
Featured Volunteer Positions
Big Buddy
Every Camper at our overnight camps gets paired with an adult who shares a similar experience of loss. This model of companionship is key to our philosophy of supporting grieving youth.
Junior Buddy
Our Junior Buddies have all been to camp before. They help first-time and nervous Campers realize they're not alone in their journey, and that it's OK to just be a kid again at Camp.

Group Leader
Our year-round Support Groups wouldn't be possible without a leader. Support Group leaders, or co-leaders, are trained on basic Camp Koala curriculum and lead groups in conversation, activity, and connection.
Gala
Every spring, Camp Koala hosts our very popular Camp Koala Gala in our hometown of Mifflinburg, PA. Our Gala volunteers help us plan the event, gather silent auction donations, and host a wonderful evening!​
