Capital Campaign
Camp Koala has officially moved back "home" and we couldn't be more excited!
After several years of stretching ourselves between our Mifflinburg and Carlisle regions,
Camp Koala set down our roots in the town where our story began. Our new Mifflinburg headquarters is conveniently located in the heart of town, only one block away from the high school. It serves as a safe space for grieving youth to build community, participate in activities, and learn how to navigate their loss in a healthy, productive way. We are now able to serve grieving children from all areas surrounding Union County.
Our Capital Campaign raised funds towards the renovation of our building at
94 Chestnut Street. Thank you for helping us create a home-away-from-home for grieving youth in our community!
A former barber shop, the Camp Koala headquarters was renovated to meet our unique needs in effectively serving youth in our community.

We have created a large, open group area to host art camps, support groups, day camps, and more. We will also be building a teen-focused space to encourage socializing and offer privacy. Outside, we plan to create meditative gardens and shared communal space. The headquarters serves as a comfortable work and storage space for our growing staff and volunteer teams.

We are so appreciative of the support our community and friends gave us during our Capital Campaign. We were able to achieve the building renovation in a timely manner to respond to the growing needs for youth grief and mental health services in our community.
