Where is Camp Koala?
Camp Koala is an overnight, weekend camp held at Camp Thompson YMCA Camp, Pine Grove Furnace State Park in Gardners, PA (outside of Carlisle).
Our office is located in downtown Carlisle, which is where our Family Workshop Program is held. Please note, this is not our children's camp location.
Our Community Outreach and Grief Awareness workshop is held at the Carlisle Family YMCA.
Facilities:
There are three cabins in each 'village', each housing up to 12 people, encircling a campfire ring at each. Separate male and female bath houses furnished with flush toilets, hot showers and running water are next to the cabins. A dining hall and arts and crafts building are nearby.
Full meals are served three times a day, along with plenty of snacks and breaks. Saturday afternoon is celebrated with a cookout. We also plan activity times around the campfire circle each evening, the activity field and Laurel Lake, equipped with fishing poles, canoes, rowboats, certified lifeguards and lifevests.
